Tribal Welfare, Women and Child Welfare Minister and in-charge Minister for Alluri Sitharama Raju district Gummidi Sandhya Rani inaugurated two infrastructure projects, worth ₹1.14 crore during her visit to the Araku Assembly constituency on Monday.
Ms. Rani inaugurated a birth waiting hall, built at a cost of ₹35 lakh with funds from the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), at the Sunkarimetta village in Araku valley mandal.
The facility was intended to provide safe accommodation and essential amenities to pregnant women living in remote areas in the week preceding their expected delivery, enabling them to access healthcare services in time, the Minister said, adding that the government planned to expand such facilities across tribal and remote regions.
