Minister flags off bus service, inspects GH in Namakkal
Minister C. Vijayalakshmi inaugurated a new bus route in the Kumarapalayam constituency to assist government school students. She also inspected local infrastructure projects, including a new bus stand and hospital facilities.

Minister for Milk and Dairy Development C. Vijayalakshmi flagged off a bus service on an extended route at Avathipalayam in the Kumarapalayam Assembly constituency, on Sunday (September 6, 2026), for the benefit of the government school students of Kaliyanur and Mampalayam.
The residents of Avathipalayam, Ottamedu, Sillankadu, Vellaparai, and Pallipalayam, as well as students studying at the Kaliyanur and Mampalayam government schools had requested for a town bus service, covering their areas, during the mornings and evenings. Based on their demand, a government town bus travelling between Sankari in the Salem district and Erode was instructed to pass via Ottamedu, Agraharam, Avathipalayam, Sillankadu, Thougoundampalayam, Kaliyanur government school, Vellaparai, and Mampalayam government school. The bus will cover the aforementioned areas twice a day.
On Sunday, the Minister flagged off the bus at Avathipalayam, commuted on it, and listened to the grievances of the travelling public.
