Minister Ajay Dharam Singh chaired a meeting with district-level officials and elected representatives at the District Administrative auditorium in Raichur on Saturday to address the worsening drought situation, drinking water scarcity, Kharif seasonal crop loss, fodder availability, and fertiliser supply in the district.
The visit comes following directions from Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar to assess ground-level crop damage across the district.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Singh stated that he conducted a two-day extensive field inspection, interacting directly with local farmers to understand drought situation triggered by the prolonged dry spell.
