Millions of Aussies eligible for $100 bonus in cost-of-living sweetener
The New South Wales government has introduced a $100 registration discount for private vehicle owners to help ease cost-of-living pressures. The discount is applied automatically to registration renewals starting September 1.

In a similar move to Victoria , NSW has introduced motor vehicle registration discounts for its residents.
Eligible motorists receive a $100 registration discount, with motorcyclists also getting an $80 cut.
Unlike other government rebates , motorists will automatically receive a one-off registration discount through Service NSW if their vehicle is eligible, from today until August 31, 2027.
The discount will be automatically deducted when an owner receives notification that their eligible vehicle is due for registration, or when a new vehicle is registered in NSW or when an eligible vehicle that has been unregistered in NSW is re-registered.
Car registration notices will now include a letter explaining the $100 discount.
