CHENNAI: A mild tremor measuring 3.0 struck on the Richter scale rocked Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday night. According to the National Centre for Seismology, the tremor, which occurred at 7.52 pm at a depth of 10 km, had its epicentre in the Denkanikottai–Hosur region near the Tamil Nadu–Karnataka border. The epicentre is 170km northeast of Ooty and 192km north-northwest of Trichy. Officials said the tremor may have been felt in and around Krishnagiri, Hosur and adjoining parts of Karnataka.
