The wife of 37-year-old Avilala Sudarshan, a migrant worker from Raikal in Jagtial district who was reportedly killed in a missile strike in war-torn Ukraine on September 1, has sought the government’s intervention to repatriate his mortal remains to India.

According to sources, Sudarshan, a worker with experience in reinforced concrete products and structures, had gone to Ukraine a couple of months ago in search of employment. He was reportedly killed after being hit by a missile near his rented accommodation in a war-affected region on Tuesday.

His wife, Bhargavi, a resident of Jagtial, approached the Chief Minister’s Pravasi Prajavani office in Hyderabad on Thursday and sought assistance in bringing her husband’s mortal remains back to India.
