MicroZig to Adopt Strict No LLM / No AI Policy
The MicroZig project has implemented a strict policy banning the use of LLMs for code, prose, translation, or brainstorming within its community spaces. The policy aims to maintain a focused, human-centric environment for technical development.
Why it matters
This reflects a growing trend of 'human-only' development enclaves in open-source communities pushing back against the ubiquity of AI-generated content.
This is largely taken from Zig's Code of Conduct .
The rules here are strict. This space is for focused, on topic, technical work on the MicroZig and Zig Embedded Group projects only. It is everyone’s responsibility to maintain a positive environment, especially when disagreements occur.
This document applies to the Zig Embedded Group GitHub organization and Discord server.
This policy takes effect October 28th, 2026.
No LLM-generated content, whether it be code or prose.
No LLMs for editing, including fixing spelling or grammatical errors.
No LLMs for translation. English is encouraged, but not required. You are welcome to post in your native language and rely on others to have their own translation tools of choice to interpret your words.
