The BelugaXL is a specialized high-volume cargo aircraft developed by European aviation consortium Airbus. The distinctive, twin-engine BelugaXL is an integral logistical component in the airliner manufacturing process at Airbus. The BelugaXL is used to transport key aircraft components, notably wing assemblies, fuselage sections, and tail units, between production facilities located throughout Europe. It is also used for non-Airbus global outsize freight service. The BelugaXL took its maiden flight on July 19, 2018 and it entered service on January 9, 2020. Airbus has manufactured a total of six BelugaXLs.
