Microsoft has confirmed that Andra Mallard, chief marketing officer of its AI unit, is leaving the company just six months after joining from Pinterest. According to a memo, viewed by Business Insider, Microsoft executive Yusuf Mehdi told employees that Mallard plans to relocate her family to Europe in August to be closer to her ailing father, leading her to step back from her role. Microsoft confirmed Mallard's departure plans, noting she will remain with the company until early next year in an advisory capacity.
