Michelin-selected Metiz wants to keep Filipino food traditions alive

<p>It took Metiz seven months before it reopened its doors to the public sometime in mid-2025, following a major overhaul.</p><p>Located in the hip Karrivin Plaza in Makati, the fine-dining restaurant announced it will temporarily close in January that year for a major overhaul, paving the way for a new chapter.</p><p>At the heart of the renovation was the same passion: preserving Filipino food traditions while presenting them in a different light, with Filipino diners in mind.</p><p>It reopened in August 2025 and roughly two months after, Metiz found itself in the prestigious list o<a href="https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/lifestyle/food/964292/michelin-guide-2026-michelin-selected-ph-restaurants-bib-gourmand-awardees-special-awards/story/" target="_blank">f selected restaurants</a> in the inaugural Michelin Guide for the Philippines.</p><p>According to the The Michelin Guide, "Metiz buzzes with energy" with chef Stepha Duhesme reinterpreting "Filipino cuisine through a bold, modern lens."</p><p>It is the same spirit that was put on display at a recent dinner service hosted by Visa Infinite.
