The organization released a statement on Thursday, August 6 expressing their support for Infantino amid controversy surrounding a plan to sell a minority stake in FIFA to private investors .
"The FMF supports President Infantino's leadership in continuing to drive the development of football through institutional strengthening," the statement said in Spanish.
The statement started by saying that football is of "fundamental value" and "the best defense lies in the institutional integrity and respect of the governance and the processes that they protect."
Earlier on Thursday, the Confederation of African Football’s Executive Committee unanimously confirmed its support for Infantino.
