Mettur dam level stands at 87.82 feet
The water levels at the Mettur and Bhavanisagar dams in Tamil Nadu are currently well below their full capacity. Officials are managing water releases for irrigation while monitoring inflow rates following recent rainfall.

The water level in the Stanley Reservoir in Mettur stood at 87.82 feet, against its full reservoir level (FRL) of 120 feet, at 8 a.m. on Tuesday (September 15, 2026).
According to Water Resources Department officials, the storage was 50.19 tmcft, against the reservoir’s full capacity of 93.47 tmcft. The inflow was 7,599 cusecs, while 12,000 cusecs was released into the Cauvery for delta irrigation and 400 cusecs through the canal. The reservoir received 5.6 mm of rainfall.
