A special police team conducted a search at a resort in Kodaikanal upper hills and seized drugs and banned substances, including methamphetamine and hashish resin. The police arrested two persons from West Bengal and Rajasthan in this connection.

Dindigul Superintendent of Police P.S. Jayakumar told media persons on Tuesday that the secret operation was carried out by a team including Deputy Superintendents of Police Karthik, Gayathri and Vinodhini.

Based on specific input, the team raided the private resort in Mannavanur, where they found 62 grams of hashish resin, LSD stamps weighing 0.26 grams, 1.98 grams of MDMA and 0.21 grams of methamphetamine, kept in a room.

Preliminary inquiries revealed that some persons from other States were camping in Mannavanur and selling drugs and other banned substances to visitors to the hill station.
