Meta Muse not available in India: Instagram shows AI agent icon, users see 'not available in your country' message
Meta's new AI agent, Muse, is currently unavailable to users in India despite appearing as an option in the Instagram interface. The tool is designed to perform autonomous, multi-step tasks like booking flights and managing calendars.
Why it matters
The regional restriction highlights the phased rollout strategy of major tech companies for advanced AI agents and the growing demand for autonomous digital assistants.
Meta Muse, Meta's new personal AI agent, is now showing up as an option in Instagram's share section. However, Indian users trying to use the feature are still unable to access it. The Muse icon can be seen when users try to share an Instagram Reel or post. Once a user selects Muse, the option shows a "Get app" prompt. However, clicking on it leads to a message saying that the app is "not available in your country", leaving Indian users unable to access Meta's new AI agent. Meta's new AI chatbot and personal agent Muse is currently not officially available in India, meaning Indian users may have to wait before they can fully access the service. Muse is designed to go beyond a regular chatbot and can autonomously carry out multi-step tasks on behalf of users, including booking flights, managing calendars, shopping and handling other everyday tasks.
