A birthday cake can seem like a small thing, a kind gesture. But for a child whose family is struggling to make ends meet, having one can mean far more than a slice of cake and a candle. Sixteen-year-old Reyha Raghavaraju saw that firsthand at a food distribution event in Georgia. She noticed a child wearing a birthday hat, but there was no birthday celebration waiting for them. The sight stayed with her. "This one kid was wearing a birthday hat," Raghavaraju said. "And then I asked him what he was doing for his birthday and he's like, 'I'm here,'" she told CBS News.
