Why it matters
His achievements highlight the potential of human cognitive performance and provide a human-interest story regarding youth excellence in STEM-related skills.
Born on July 6, 2010, in Nashik, Maharashtra, Aaryan Shukla is not your normal teenager. While most 16-year-olds are juggling school assignments and screen time, Aaryan has spent the last decade turning mental arithmetic into a genuine sporting career, one that has taken him from a modest household in Nashik to stages in Germany, Italy, Dubai, Russia, and Saudi Arabia. Today, he holds the title of world number one human calculator, backed by nine Guinness World Records and two Mental Calculation World Cup titles. During the conversation with his father, Nitin Shukla, he told us that he is a businessman, while his mother, Meenal Shukla, previously worked in the IT sector before stepping back to support Aaryan's journey full-time.
