Noted writer G.N. Panicker was presented the Thoppil Mohamed Meeran Memorial Award instituted by the Thiruvananthapuram Literary Society (TLS) for his overall contributions to literature. Minister for Culture P.C. Vishnunadh presented the award, consisting of ₹25,000 cash prize and citation, to Prof. Panicker at a function at his residence here on Wednesday. Former director of the State Institute of Languages M.R. Thampan, TLS president Kayamkulam Yunus, M.M. Safar, Prof. Panicker’s wife Sushama Devi and children Rajeev, Nirala and Manju were present.
