The deceased, Komati Srijana, was pursuing her first-year postgraduate course in paediatrics in Hanumakonda. She had arrived in Hyderabad on September 30 and subsequently went missing.
Police traced her mobile phone location to Room No. 502 of Hotel Grand Brochil in Miyapur. The room was opened using a spare key, in which Srijana was found dead on the bed.
