A fresh case of death related to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) emerged in Maharashtra with a 19-year-old medical aspirant allegedly ending her life over disappointment with her NEET re-exam results.
She was found dead at her home in Jalalpur village in Karjat taluka of Ahilyanagar district. According to Karjat police, she left behind a note reflecting that she was distressed and disappointed as she couldn’t qualify cutoff in the NEET-UG examination.
“As per preliminary investigation, Sharvari (name changed to protect identity) was under stress over her performance in the NEET exam. The note mentioned that she scored less marks and was disappointed over it. The accidental death report (ADR) has been registered,” Karjat Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sujeetkumar Kshirsagar told The Hindu .
The incident took place on July 25, around 4 p.m. She belongs to a farming family, survived by her parents and brother.
