TVNZ investigative journalist and broadcaster Indira Stewart has revealed she is undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with grade three breast cancer.
In a social media post, Stewart said an aggressive tumour had led to a mastectomy at the age of 41, “but I got a new boob and I LOVE IT”.
Her raw and honest post has been met with an outpouring of love and support.
The senior journalist and former Breakfast host – she has been with TVNZ since 2020 and previously worked at RNZ, Coconet TV and the ABC – said January was a “blur”.
“Did this photo shoot a couple of days before starting chemo. Diagnosed with Grade 3 breast cancer, tumour was aggressive, started chemo two weeks later.
