The Spinoff founder and The Fold host Duncan Greive.

A specialist podcast that has followed the challenges, setbacks and successes of New Zealand media over almost seven years is itself ending.

“I’m going to be folding The Fold,” host Duncan Greive told listeners in the latest weekly episode, released today.

“This podcast’s been running for just shy of seven years, and it’s been hundreds and hundreds of episodes, and I’ve loved it.”

Greive, founder of The Spinoff website which hosts the podcast, told Media Insider he needed to turn his full attention to music start-up Lume, which he co-founded and launched in late May .

His first Fold podcast was broadcast in November 2019, some nine months after the launch of NZ Herald premium subscriptions and about six months after The Spinoff launched its own memberships.
