Caught off guard? RNZ says its Saturday Morning co-host decided today would be her last day after sources revealed a meeting yesterday afternoon, at which she was given official notice.

The end came abruptly, with little fanfare – and on her own terms.

After asking her co-host Susie Ferguson about the line-up for next week’s show, RNZ Saturday Morning co-host Mihingarangi Forbes revealed to listeners today that she wouldn’t be part of it.

“Hmmmm. Well, this is my last show, and it’s been amazing. And I just want to mihi to everybody for having me in their headphones, in their car, and in their lounges and kitchens for the last couple of years.
