MDA sites illegally allotted under 50:50 scheme since 2019 to be cancelled: Yathindra

Days after announcing the cancellation of sites allotted by the erstwhile Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) under the controversial 50:50 ratio scheme after 2023, Urban Development Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah on Friday said the government would cancel all sites illegally allotted by the Authority under the scheme since 2019.
Mr. Yathindra’s statement comes after the government’s earlier decision to cancel allotments made under the scheme since March 14, 2023, triggered demands from the Opposition BJP and JD(S) for the cancellation of all illegal allotments under the scheme.
Fielding questions from reporters in Mysuru, Mr. Yathindra said the government would not only cancel all illegal allotments made under the scheme since 2019, but also scrutinise allotments made before 2019 to identify cases involving the illegal allotment of alternative or incentive sites.
