McCann Family Studio Theatre unveiled as part of Werklund Centre expansion
The McCann family has donated $4 million toward the construction of a new studio theatre in Calgary, which is part of the larger Werklund Centre expansion project. The facility is designed to be a flexible, professional-grade space for local artists and is expected to open in 2028.

The McCann Family Studio Theatre is set to be completed in 2028, along with the rest of the planned expansions and improvements at the former Olympic Plaza site.
"We are honoured to support a project that will have a lasting impact on Calgary's cultural community," said Rod McCann in a press release from the Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC).
Rod McCann, along with Karen McCann and their immediate family, provided a $4-million gift to the project.
