GEORGE TOWN: The Penang Island City Council (MBPP) has seized a dog that reportedly attacked a stray at Pearl Hill, Tanjung Bungah.
MBPP said it received a complaint through its official WhatsApp channel on Sunday (Aug 30) regarding the incident, believed to have taken place a day earlier.
Checks found that the dog involved had a valid licence and was registered as a mixed breed.
MBPP added that the complaint was referred to the Veterinary Services Department (DVS) for investigation.
"MBPP will cooperate with DVS regarding further action in the matter," it said in a statement on Monday (Aug 31).
"MBPP takes this incident seriously and will take appropriate action based on the findings of the investigation and the relevant laws in force," it added.
