Kylian Mbappé continues to write his name alongside the greatest figures in Champions League history. The French forward reached 71 goals in the competition, moving into a tie with Raúl González , a Real Madrid legend, for fifth place on the all-time scoring list.
The milestone came during the Spanish club’s 2-1 victory over Inter Milan in its league-phase opener. Mbappé opened the scoring before Federico Valverde extended the lead in the first half, while Carlos Augusto pulled one back for the Italian side.
The goal carried even more significance for the Frenchman, who had received an award before the match after finishing as the top scorer in the 2025-26 Champions League.
