A massive turnout for HYDRAA’s recruitment drive for 100 Disaster Response Force (DRF) assistant and 50 driver posts led to mild crowd-control measures at Saroornagar Stadium on Saturday, with more than 1,600 aspirants turning up for the selection process.
HYDRAA officials initially struggled to manage the crowd as aspirants surged forward to submit applications and collect tokens for the physical tests. LB Nagar police, who had deployed bandobast anticipating a large turnout, used mild force to control the crowd and prevent stampede-like situation.
The situation was brought under control after repeated announcements over loudspeakers assured the aspirants that all applications would be accepted and everyone would get an opportunity to undergo physical tests.
