Mason killed after handrail falls on him in Chromepet

A 62-year-old construction worker died after being trapped in debris after a staircase handrail, which was under construction, collapsed near Chromepet on Saturday.
The Tambaram police said Kumar was a resident of Nagalkeni area in Chromepet, and worked as a mason. On Saturday, Kumar was carrying out repairs at a house in Ranga Nagar, Chromepet, when the staircase handrail collapsed on him. Kumar became trapped in the debris and died on the spot.
The Shankar Nagar police recovered the body and sent it for a post-mortem.
