Police are investigating an incident in which a 59-year-old mason died after a perimeter wall collapsed on him at a construction site in Kathiani, Machakos County.

The incident occurred on Thursday in Kathiani Sub-County, prompting police to visit the scene, where they found the lifeless body of Joshua Muasya lying on the ground, facing upwards, with visible head injuries.

According to police, a domestic worker at the residence of the owner of the ongoing construction said she heard a loud bang from behind the main house.

Upon checking, she found Muasya covered by debris from the collapsed perimeter wall.

Initial investigations established that the deceased had been working alone at the time of the incident.

The scene was photographed and documented by police officers, while the body was moved to Kathiani Level Four Hospital mortuary, where it is awaiting autopsy.
