Mark Ruffalo Stands in the Way of a Revolution in Oscar Winner’s Being Heumann Trailer
The trailer for the film 'Being Heumann' has been released, showcasing the life of disability rights activist Judith Heumann. Directed by Sian Heder, the film stars Ruth Madeley and Mark Ruffalo and is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Being Heumann arrives in select theaters on November 6, before making its streaming debut on Apple TV on November 13. It is based on Judith Heumann's powerful memoir, Being Heumann: An Unrepentant Memoir of a Disability Rights Activist.
The movie is directed by Sian Heder, best known for writing and directing the acclaimed films Tallulah and CODA. The latter earned Heder an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Being Heumann was announced as the opening film of the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (via The Hollywood Reporter ). The event kicks off on September 10.
