Maratha protesters will head to Mumbai, says Jarange Patil
Maratha activist Manoj Jarange Patil has announced plans to lead a protest march to Mumbai following his ongoing hunger strike for reservation rights. The activist is demanding that the government validate Kunbi certificates for the Maratha community, while state officials claim they are working to resolve the issue.

“We are going to Mumbai, the date will be announced on September 12, once we all gathered at Antarwali Sarathi,” said Maratha Activist Manoj Jarange Patil as his indefinite hunger strike demanding reservation for the community entered 13th day on Thursday (September 10, 2026).
“We are not waiting for government’s delegation to visit his protest site, but waiting for supporters to assemble and then decide the next course of action,” said Mr. Jarange Patil.
Mr. Jarange Patil and his supporters are staging protest across the state demanding government to issue the certificates based on Kunbi entries in the Hyderabad and Satara Gazette records to eligible members of the Maratha community and validate the certificates, instead of cancelling them.
