Mappilappattu singer Nisar Wayanad passed away in Dubai on Saturday (September 5, 2026) evening. He was 44.
According to reports, Nisar had been undergoing treatment for fever at a private hospital in Dubai. A native of Kambalakkad in Wayanad, Nisar had gone to Dubai for a music event last month and was hospitalised after he fell ill. He was scheduled to perform in Saudi Arabia and Dubai in the coming days.
Nisar had been part of many musical albums and attracted attention for the similarity of his voice to Bollywood singer Udit Narayan. He also worked for the unfinished Malayalam movie Professor Dinkan .
