Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) since July 23, 2021, will continue to serve the varsity in the same capacity till February 2027, or till a new VC is appointed.

MANUU announced the development on Thursday and stated that Mr. Hasan’s term extension is per a Ministry of Education order.

Mr. Hasan is the fifth VC of the university, and assumed office on July 28, 2021. MANUU stated that during his tenure, he worked for the overall development of the varsity. MANUU secured A+ Grade from NAAC, and also found place in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2026 and in NIRF, Ministry of Education, a School of Law was established. Mr. Hasan was also conferred the Padma Shri award in January 2025.
