Manufacturing meet stresses need for designing innovative products

Godwin Tennyson, Director (in-charge), Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchi, on Friday called upon the entrepreneurs and industrialists to shift their focus to manufacturing products with innovation.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the manufacturing summit organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry, Tiruchi Zone, he said innovation should be a key component of designing a product. It would automatically generate consumer interest. It would have positive cascading effects on various aspects of marketing as well. It would ultimately make the manufacturing industry financially sound. The companies that designed innovative products had succeeded in their approach, Mr. Tennyson said.
