Manipuri musician killed over noise plaint suffered 15 rib fractures: Autopsy

NEW DELHI: Manipuri musician Chongtham Vikram Singh, who was allegedly beaten to death by eight people outside his home in Delhi, had suffered extensive injuries, including fractures to at least 15 ribs, his postmortem report revealed.Singh, a resident of Kilokari Ashram in southeast Delhi, was allegedly assaulted with fists and feet around 11.30pm on Sept 6, according to the case history recorded in the report.He was taken to Holy Family Hospital shortly after midnight in an unconscious and unresponsive state and died during treatment at 6.32am on Sept 7.The AIIMS postmortem examination, conducted the same day, found multiple abrasions and bruises on his head, face, neck, arms, chest, abdomen, back and legs.A large bruise on the left side of his back had an imprint resembling the thumb, index, middle and ring fingers of a left hand.The examination found fractures of the first to 11th ribs on the left side and…
