Dakshina Kannada District In-charge Minister U.T. Khader said on Friday that the State Cabinet meeting scheduled in Mangaluru on September 18 would prioritise approvals for the development of infrastructure, including roads, in coastal districts as well as the fisheries, tourism, and industrial sectors.

Speaking while holding a meeting with representatives from various industries, fisheries associations, tourism entrepreneurs, and officials at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in view of the Cabinet meeting, he said that representations had been received regarding the shortage of land for industrial development in the district. The government would focus on developing new industrial areas. A proposal worth ₹28 crore for road development in the Baikampady Industrial Area had already been submitted to the State government.
