A 35-year-old man allegedly stole an empty TGSRTC bus from Korutla bus stand and drove it rashly for nearly 18 km before hitting three motorcyclists along the way and crashing into a roadside tree in Jagtial district on Tuesday.
Three motorcyclists were injured and a police vehicle was damaged in the incident, which unfolded like a scene from a film.
The man, identified as Sambaiah, of Nagaram village in Dharmapuri mandal, sped towards Metpalli as police chased him.
He hit three motorcyclists at different locations along the Korutla-Metpalli road before the bus crashed into a tree near Metpalli, where police detained him.
