In a suspected revenge killing, a villager, Chinna, was stabbed to death allegedly by members of a rival group at Venkatappaiah Colony in Guntur on Sunday.
Chinna, who had been facing trial in a murder case dating back nearly 20 years, had migrated to Telangana. He had returned to Guntur to attend the final rites of his uncle.
According to the police, the assailants, who were reportedly aware of Chinna’s movements, attacked him with knives, killing him on the spot.
