Man, son electrocuted while tilling land in Tiruvarur district

A father and his son were electrocuted in Tiruvarur district while preparing their agricultural field for sowing. The accident occurred when a high-voltage overhead power line snapped and fell onto their tractor.

Raja, 52, of Thirunellikaval Pudur in Kottur Block, Tiruvarur district, and his son, Adithyan, 18, died of electrocution at an agriculture field on October 5.
Inquiries reveal that Raja and Adithyan were engaged in the preparation of field for sowing of seeds while a heavy duty overhead power traction wire passing above the field cut off and fell on the tractor operated by Adithyan. On seeing his son struggling for life, Raja rushed in only to get electrocuted.
