Emergency services were called to Mimosa Road at Greenacre about 9pm on Thursday after reports of gunshots.
Police said the victim was shot twice in the chest on nearby Banksia Road before he was driven to Mimosa Road.
He was treated by paramedics and was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
