Man shares how a one-in-a-billion sea encounter led him to his father

For most people, running into a parent unexpectedly might mean spotting them at a café, a railway station or somewhere in the neighbourhood. For sailor Rusheel Saran, the setting could hardly have been more unusual: the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. Saran recently shared a video documenting the extraordinary moment when his ship crossed paths with another vessel carrying his father, Raviraj Saran. The video was shared by Rusheel Saran on Instagram at @rusheel_saran. The two men were sailing on separate ships and travelling in opposite directions when their routes happened to intersect far from land.How the father and son crossed pathsAccording to his video, Rusheel was sailing north when he noticed a large vessel approaching from the opposite direction.
