Man sentenced to life for murder over debt dispute in Anantapur

According to the police, Chakali Srinivasulu, a resident of Nyamaddala village in Chennekothapalli mandal of Sri Sathya Sai district, and Ashok were staying at the Mahatma Gandhi Shelter located in Kovvuru Nagar in Anantapur. On June 25, 2022, around 1.45 p.m., while Ashok was having lunch, Srinivasulu demanded repayment of the ₹6,000 that was due to him. Ashok reportedly said that he would not return the money, and enraged by this, Srinivasulu hit the victim on the head with a wooden pestle, causing his death on the spot.
