The body of a 27-year-old man was found near a stone quarry at Kalpadi village in the district on Wednesday.
Police identified the deceased as T. Vetrivel of Neduvasal village in the district.
Police sources said Vetrivel left home in the morning after informing his family members that he was going to the agricultural field. He was found dead with a bleeding injury on his head near a stone quarry.
Maruvathur police are investigating the case.
