Man posing as Energy Minister’s OSD on police radar

The Vidhana Soudha police have launched a search for a man who allegedly posed as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Energy Minister and threatened the Bescom officials with transfers while demanding money from them.

According to a complaint filed by an official with the Energy Ministry on September 15, the accused, identified as Raghunandan, contacted three Bescom officials over the phone on August 31.

He reportedly claimed that he could arrange their transfers and demanded money in return.

The officials were allegedly threatened with transfers from their existing places of posting if they failed to do what was demanded of them.
