A 27-year-old man has been arrested for the murder of his mother following a dispute over family property in Tiruchi. The victim succumbed to injuries after being attacked with a dumbbell during an argument.

A 65-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her son following a dispute over family property at Manapparai in Tiruchi on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Selvi, wife of Ganesan, of Kalathupatti.
According to the police, the couple had three sons. Their second son, Venkadesan, 27, was married but had been living with his parents following a dispute with his wife. Police said he frequently quarrelled with his parents demanding a share in the family property.
