The Mattancherry police on Tuesday arrested a 36-year-old man with 21 litres of suspected Indian Made Foreign Liquor.

Libin Jose P.A. of Panayappilly, Thoppumpady, was arrested following a raid at his residence based on a tip-off that he had stored liquor beyond the permissible limit. The liquor was found in 42 bottles of 500 ml each, according to the FIR.

The accused has been booked under Section 55 of the Kerala Abkari Act, which deals with offences including illegal possession, storage and sale of liquor.
