Bengaluru police have arrested a man from Assam for allegedly murdering his 21-year-old partner following a fight over a trivial issue and attempting to pass off her death as suicide.

The accused, Munnadas, a resident of Lakhipur in Assam, had befriended Champoodas, also from Assam, and brought her to Bengaluru. The two had been living together as tenants in a house in Naganathapura.

On August 30, the house owner approached the Parappana Agrahara police after finding the woman dead under suspicious circumstances. The complainant expressed suspicion on the man living with her. Police initially registered an unnatural death report (UDR) and began an investigation.
