The Kanniyakumari District Crime Branch (DCB) police has arrested a 66-year old man from Nagercoil for allegedly cheating a man of ₹1.5 crore in property deal.

According to police, the accused R. Ragunathan, 66 from Nagercoil had allegedly received an amount of ₹1.5 crores from a man identified as A. Joseph, 72 of Asaripallam to sell him 16.303 cent of land located in Nagercoil South Village. However, after receiving the amount Ragunathan failed to execute the sale deed. Joseph later found that he had sold the same property to another person. As Ragunathan failed to return the money, Joseph lodged a complaint with the DCB police in January, 2026.
