Man held for cheating ₹34 lakh in land deal

Kanniyakumari District Crime Branch (DCB) police have arrested a man for allegedly cheating a woman of ₹34 lakh after promising to arrange the purchase of a 11-cent vacant plot at Kattayanvilai in Nagercoil.
According to police, S. Gandhi, 43, of Nadukkadu in Kanniyakumari district received ₹34 lakh from Jeyanthi, 58, of Kanchipuram district through G-Pay and RTGS transactions, for arranging the purchase of a plot. However, he allegedly delayed registering the land in her name and also failed to return the money despite her repeated requests.
