Man held for allegedly circulating morphed images of Thangal

The police at Tirurangadi arrested a man for allegedly circulating derogatory posters and morphed images of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) State president Syed Sadikali Shihab Thangal on social media.
The arrested person was identified as Ponniyath Anvar from Velliyamburam, Nannambra. The case was registered on a complaint by U.A. Razak, Muslim Youth League president of the Tirurangadi constituency.
According to the complaint, morphed images of Mr. Thangal were circulated through a WhatsApp group named ‘Nannambra Politics’, along with obscene and abusive remarks.
The complaint alleged that such posts could lead to communal tensions and clashes in the area.
